UP AND DOWN THE RIVER
-
Each player is dealt four cards face up, including the dealer.
-
The dealer then puts 4 cards face down in a column on the table. This column of cards will be known as "up the river".
-
The dealer puts another 4 cards face down in a column to the left of the first. This will be known as "down the river".
-
Now, the dealer flips the first card in the "up the river" column. If any of the players have that card, they GIVE out ONE drink.
-
The second card in the "up the river" column is flipped. If any of the players have that card, they GIVE out TWO drinks.
-
The third card in the column means you GIVE out FOUR drinks. The fourth card means you GIVE out SIX drinks.
-
Now it's time to go down the river ....
Flip over the top card of the "down the river" column. If anyone has that card, they TAKE ONE drink. If anyone has the next card, they TAKE TWO DRINKS, the third card, the person TAKES FOUR DRINKS, and the fourth card, the person TAKES SIX DRINKS.
